From Bruce and Mary Ann Fuller

Bruce relaxing at Smiley Creek Airport

Last month we mentioned that Bruce and Mary Ann Fuller were again spending the Summer in Idaho. This time as caretakers of the Smiley Creek Airport, which is a really nice  grass strip in an open valley near Ketcham.
They will maintain the facilities and the runway and basically be the hosts for the many fly-ins that happen there during the summer.
They drove their Coach up there to stay in for the summer and already have had a few weeks worth of time living and working there.
They will return in mid September, just in time for the fall fly-in season. A summer without any temps in the 100 degree area. I think they may be on to something.
Ask asked them to be our “reporters in the field” (literally), and here is their first report:

“We’ve been here since May 22nd and have had snow and low temps at 19 and 22 degrees! We’ve got our bathrooms cleaned, campground ready for pilot campers, runway ready and a few planes this week. Beautiful area, great milkshakes and food across the street and access to Ketchum and Stanley for laundry, groceries and liquor!! First fly in is June 10th with straight tail 182’s; next is round engine on 17th, Glastar sportsmen on 23rd. Look forward to having visitors! We’re loving every day!”
