Members enjoying a delicious BBQ lunch.

From Michael Stephan

On June 17th, Mel and Ann hosted another fun Chapter 168 Summer Picnic.

We thought it might be too hot, but it wasn’t bad. 63 people joined us at the picnic. One of the largest crowds to attend the annual event. Lots of old friends as well as many new faces. Even though it was warm, the event was still very enjoyable.

The food was delicious including the BBQ from Spring Creek. The side dishes are my favorite additions. We not only have talented aircraft builders, but excellent cooks as well. Thanks for all those who pitched in in the make the event fun and delicious.

Chuck Wilson speeds by in his new RV-12

We did have one fly in participant. Chuck Wilson landed his newly minted RV-12, inspected earlier in the week. On departure, he made a pass down the runway, and all stood outside to watch it. Flying airplanes entertains our crowd and it doesn’t take much to get them excited.

We thank all those who attended and especially those that brought side dishes and desserts to share add to the picnic. We also thank those who helped the day before set up the tables and chairs in the hangar.

Also a big thanks to Mel and Ann who hosted our largest event of the year again. We hope to do it again next year.
