Last month we enjoyed another Chapter Picnic. This year’s was hosted by Joe and Melissa Migis at their home in Hidden Valley Airpark. It was another great event. The weather was warm, but comfortable inside Joe’s Hangar. There was plenty of room to accommodate the large group of picnickers.
Several students from Rising Aviation High School, organized by Zen Walter, manned the golf carts and escorted members from the parking area to the Migis’ Hangar. We appreciate their efforts that day.
The food, as usual, was delicious. The members who brought addition side dishes did a terrific job and was a great addition to the BBQ brisket that Joe smoked special for the picnic, which was the star of the day.
It was also great to see Mel Asberry at this year’s picnic. Recovering from a very serious illness, he is getting stronger and looking good.
Overall, another fun Chapter event. We thank Joe and Melissa for hosting us this year and all those who contributed in making this a memorable day.
