On Saturday, December 13, Chapter 168 held a successful Young Eagles event at Sherman airport (KSWI).
With the assistance of pilots Joe Migis, Pete Miller, and Chris Siggins, we flew 6 students. YE Coordinator Chris Jolly was assisted by Zen Walter on the ground.
Thank you to EAA Chapter #168 for setting up my Young Eagles flight in Sherman, Texas on December 13th, 2025. I’ve wanted to be a pilot since I was four years old, so getting this opportunity was honestly amazing. Flying with Pete in his RV-7 was so exciting, and it was a really fun change from flying gliders. Feeling the power of the plane and seeing how different it is from gliding made it even more special. Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen—it’s something I’ll always remember.
It was incredible, being that high up in the air gave me just a taste of what my future holds and I can’t wait. This experience showed me how great it feels to be up there and gets me to excited to continue my path of learning and pursuing my dream.
Conlan and Elizabeth both had a wonderful time!
Riya had this to say:
Chris, It was really nice to finally meet you and Joe this morning! I really appreciate the opportunity and loved flying with him, the experience was absolutely exhilarating, and I’m excited to get started on the process!
