On March 1, 2025, Eric Cadorette hosted a project visit at his hangar at Sherman Municipal (KSWI) to show off his nearly completed Sling TSi. We had an excellent turn-out with a number of people making the drive, or short flight to Sherman. The weather was beautiful, if not a bit breezy, and we would likely have more fly in if not for the stiff crosswind. The majority of folks hung out for almost two hours while Eric was able to show off his excellent workmanship and the quality of the Sling TSi kit. I made particular note of the quality and sturdiness of the gull-wing doors, which can be a weak point on similar aircraft (not to mention any by name).

The TSi is a four place, low wing design developed by Sling Aircraft out of South Africa and distributed in the US by The Airplane Factory in California. Eric’s is powered by a Rotax 915is which has been challenged by a few service bulletins in the past couple of months, but Eric has taken care of them and is just about ready for his airworthiness inspection.

The plane is all pulled rivets (which surely explains how he got it finished so quickly), but he has painstakingly filled every open mandrel hole for a clean finished look. Speaking of finished look, his custom interior upholstery, with two tone leather and quilted stitched seats, looks incredible and compliments his Garmin G3X panel. The finish out of all of Slings is impressive and a real selling point of the kit.

Since the visit, Eric has reached out to his DAR to start the paperwork. I think we’ll have another first flight soon.
